LVL7 Systems is shipping a new version of its Fastpath IP stack that adds support for Linux-based systems operating in IPv6 networks. Fastpath 4.4.3 also supports a broader line of StrataXGS II and III chips from Broadcom, and includes provisions for dual IPv4/v6 stacks, IPv6 addressing, and OSPFv3, according to the company.
LVL7 says its newest Fastpath software has already been used by customer Diversified Technology, which it describes as a "top-tier global supplier to the embedded computer industry." Specifically, Fastpath was used in several switch blade products in DTI's Targa series of modular AdvancedTCA (Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture) systems, DTI VP of technical marketing Joe McDevitt said.
"Extending their IPv6 solution to Linux applications really adds value to their Fastpath software," McDevitt said.
Availability
Fastpath 4.4.3 is available now, for Linux and VxWorks.
LVL7 is a venture-funded startup based in North Carolina. It recently announced that starting with version 4.4.5, it will optimize Fastpath for Wind River Linux.
